Cultivation Technology of Cross Winter Onion in Open Fields
, preparations before sowing. Choose suitable varieties for local cultivation, and use that the new seeds. Because onion seeds have a shorter life span, it is not suitable to use the old seeds. Select fertile soil with loose structure and good permeability and good water and fertilizer conservation ability. Supply enough basic fertilizer and dig deep ditch for sowing.
, sowing time and planting methods. Choose suitable time for sowing period. too early sowing time will lead to early bolting. Too late Sowing will get too many small seedlings and low survival rate.
, management in the breeding period. We should nurture proper aging seedlings. Prevent seedlings to grow either too large which will lead to early bolting in the early stage, or too young to survive in the winter. According to the real water and fertilizer condition of the soil, regulate the growth of the seedlings.
, strictly select the seedlings for fix planting. Remove the young, small seedlings and choose the seedlings whose stem is 0.4-0.7cm in diameter.
, over wintering management. Timely water the seedlings after fix planting. Apply a small amount of fertilizer to ensure the seedling can live across the winter.
, spring and summer management. Keep the soil be moist and loosen the soil frequently and pay attention to water and fertilizer management to promote the growth of the onions.
, harvest. Select the sunny days for harvest. Uproot the whole plant and dry in the fields for 1-2days. Shed the white head of onions when drying in the fields to promote the dryness of the outer leaves for storage. (Reproduced)
